About Me!

Hey there! I'm Ava Girardi, a senior at Elon University originally from Scarsdale, New York. In May of 2024, I plan on graduating with a B.A. in Journalism and Media Analytics. 

My dedication to journalism is evident in my position as a fashion writer for The Edge, our university's student-led magazine, as well as in previous editorial internships where I conducted research and authored articles spanning entertainment, fashion, beauty, health, and wellness topics. My passion for consumer data and strategic planning is showcased through my position as a Media Analytics Executive at Live Oak Communications, the award-winning student-operated public relations agency at Elon University. In this role, I played a key part in enhancing the social media platforms for Live Oak's branding team.

Looking ahead, I'm eager to dive deeper into journalism and media analytics, exploring new realms of storytelling. I'm especially interested in social media data analytics, where I excel at uncovering insights to enhance brand content and enable brands to efficiently convey their personality and passions to existing and potential consumers. Currently, I'm exploring opportunities in data analysis, digital marketing, and content strategy within public relations or advertising agencies. 

Outside of my academic pursuits, you'll find me whipping up tasty meals, pounding the pavement on long runs, and getting lost in romance novels. A fun fact about me is that I spent a semester abroad in Copenhagen and traveled extensively across Europe, exploring the diverse cultures of Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
